About the Artist — Julia Pewsey

After graduating from the North Essex School of Art in Colchester, I worked in several design studios and became a freelance illustrator in 1990. Since then I have done artwork mainly for greetings cards, magazines and giftware, with animals and wildlife as my main subjects.

Stonham Barns 2006 I have always loved painting animals and after producing pet portraits for family and friends, decided to concentrate on this area.

Watercolour on a tinted board is my favourite medium as it enables me to produce highly detailed paintings made from many layers of colour, which I aim to make as realistic as possible.

Over the years I have painted many commissions and my work has travelled worldwide. I have also been on local radio and my work has been shown in various exhibitions. If you have any enquiries please email Julia, or visit me on my stand at countryside and game fairs throughout the South East.
