How to order a portrait

Please contact me either by phone: +44 (0)1787 280 569 or by email Julia to discuss your requirements.

How long will it take?

Paddy When you contact me, I can give you an idea of how long the portrait will take. The time varies according to workload, subject matter, time of year etc. But as a general guide, a single portrait will take about two weeks to complete.

Sending photographs

Ideally, I like to work from my own photographs but of course this is not always practical. Therefore I need you to send me as many good, clear photographs as possible of your pet either by post (including an SAE to return your pictures) or if you are sending digital photos, high resolution images on a CD are best. I can work from emailed or scanned images sent over the internet as long as the quality is good. Please send to Julia.

I need to have good close-up photos of the head, especially the eyes, as these are very important in capturing the character of your pet. Please also include any information about coat colour, expression etc that I need to know about, and indicate the main images to work from. If you wish the portrait to include more than one animal, there is no need to have them on the same photo, as I can use separate images for the composition.

Payment and refunds

You can pay me online using Paypal or send me a cheque through the post (UK only) made payable to Julia Pewsey. (If paying by cheque, I will need to wait until it has cleared before sending the painting). Full payment is required on completion. If you are not fully satisfied with the work a refund can be agreed, taking into account the time spent creating the portrait and considering materials used.

As soon as your portrait is ready to be dispatched, I will contact you either by phone or email to arrange the final payment and posting date. (A deposit is required with your order). Please let me know if you would rather I did not phone if the portrait is a gift for a partner, as I would not want to spoil the surprise!
